The workflow
- Decide which album should survive. That is the target album.
- Open the source album in Opla. The source is the album you want to merge away.
- Open the album menu and choose Merge Into. You can also start from album management menus when available.
- Pick the target album. Use search, folders, or the albums list in the merge picker.
- Read the confirmation. The important behavior is simple: all items are added to the target album, then the source album is deleted.
- Confirm Merge. After completion, use the target album as the combined album.
Blunt warning
Merging deletes the source album. It does not delete the photos from your library, but the old album container is gone. If you are unsure, duplicate or rename albums first instead of merging.
Caveats
- Merge is for normal user-created albums, not every Apple smart or system album.
- Album merging is part of Opla's advanced album operations.
- If the source and target already share photos, Opla still treats the target album as the final destination.
Clean up duplicate albums deliberately.
Opla gives you album operations that Apple Photos keeps buried or missing on iPhone.
